This series of drawings has evolved over a period of time and is strongly influenced by the stories by the brothers Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm.

Purple Moon originates within the fairy tale "Rapunzel," which itself is a story based on a classical Persian poem: Shahnameh. This is also reflected in the colours - distinct, bright and varied pigments - which are inspired by Persian paintings from the 12th and 13th century.

The tales of the brothers Grimm are also the foundation for The Infinite Lines of the Lobster Tail Flowers. The actions in this drawing are happening throughout the night, with the focus lying on a single figure that dominates the movement within the scene taking place in a symmetrical, natural landscape of magic woods filled with purple haze, tree trunks, and lobster flowers.

Pink Sparkling Twilight shows an anthropomorphic creature framed by two half moons. The red tights are a reference to the paintings by Piero della Francesca, which frequently depict figures donning red tights.

Shiny Big Hair continues Yulia Iosilzon's series of Lunar Year and Outlanders paintings, featuring themes of secret gardens and landscapes out of fairy tales, as well as magical creatures, calligraphic pines and big, wig-like hair.
